Last night, I asked my seven year-old daughter if Valentine’s Day was important. She said, “Yes, it’s very important.”“Why?” I inquired. She thought for about 10 seconds and answered, “Because it’s a time for sharing.”
Yesterday, we at Praxis celebrated our first cultural integration event of the year. It was a mix of a North American celebration with a twist of Colombian flavor.
Students from different classes had the opportunity to have fun and share time together with their classmates and people they had never met before from other groups.
It was a lot of fun. We got to meet people, laugh, and share an hour of our busy lives with people we don’t usually talk to. Most importantly, we took a moment to say some nice things to complete strangers.
Wouldn’t the world be a better place if we could do something like this everyday?
I’m sure my daughter would be very proud of us.
